Welcome to the new Brooklyn Beanstalk blog!
For those of you who are new to Brooklyn Beanstalk, we're an arts-driven educational organization offering specialized language immersion classes in Spanish and French to kids ages 16 months through elementary school. Since we first started Brooklyn Beanstalk six years ago, we've had the joy of working with many students in schools, childcare centers, playgroups and more across NYC.
Our entire staff is made up of teaching artists, with backgrounds in theater, dance and music. Because of our experience as performing artists, we bring a lively and engaging approach to all of our classes and events.
Just look at all of the fun we've been having!
As we head towards the end of 2016 and into the new year, we've got a lot of exciting events coming up, including:
Beanstalk Hour, on December 17, at 3;30pm at Brooklyn Central Public Library (Grand Army Plaza). We'll sing songs, play games and read stories from our favorite authors -- all in French and Spanish! It's a great opportunity to meet us and experience our immersion approach first-hand! Best of all, it's FREE! Just RSVP at brooklynbeanstalk@gmail.com.
Winter Classes, running Saturdays from Janaury 14 - April 1. We offer three levels of classes, Little Seeds (ages 18 months to 3.5 years), Little Giants (ages 3.5 years to 5 years) and Little Jacks (ages 6 years to 8 years) in both French and Spanish. All classes are taught using our immersion approach, meaning we only speak French or Spanish in the room. By teaching through songs, games, dance and theater, everyone is excited to learn! You can find more information here.
Circus Camp, running February 20 - February 24. Have you ever wondered how to walk on a giant sphere? Or on stilts? How about making a human pyramid? At circus camp, we'll do all these things and more! Find out more here.
